Hades II: Early Access Proper

Making a sequel to a game that already has countless sequels is no easy task, but Supergiant Games seems to have pulled it off brilliantly.

Hades II

It seems to me that it’s easier to start with the first one, the second one will be released from early access no earlier than in a year, and before that you still won’t be able to complete the storyline.

any rogue-lite is a rogue-like. this is not a separate genre, it is a subgenre that is distinguished by players. or even a set of rules/relaxations
if you call Haydes a bagel, you’d be right. if you call it rogue-lite, you’d be right too. but if you call a rogue-lite some kind of Noxico, you will be wrong, t.this is pure rogue-like without any improvements or changes – turn-based combat, no end-to-end leveling, permanent death, etc.d and t.n

in the trailers of some Elden Ring or Lords of the Fallen it is also not written that this is a Sol-like game, because.but on paper they are all “action RPGs”. but t.Since these specific representatives of the genre have characteristic features, players and the press have identified them as a separate subgenre.

I won’t get tired of posting this picture

Previews have long been called reviews (Even on SG they are in the “Video Reviews” section), but ratings are not given in order to avoid any troubles that could actually be fixed before the release.

It’s possible, there are only a couple of references to the original in the dialogues.

Rogue-Like and Rogue-Lite are different genres. more precisely, the second is a more widespread subgenre of the first

roguelike is a game that is entirely based on the very first game of the genre – Rogue. must be step by step. death in a bagel is permanent; if you die, you lose everything, not part. all features are available immediately, there are no unlockable things. procedural generation of anything and everything

roguelight (light – lite): genre can be any. there is end-to-end pumping, which makes subsequent runs easier. When you die, not all resources are lost

You can hardly find purebred bagels these days. the vast majority of representatives of the genre in modern times are rogue-lite projects, like Hades, although they are called roguelikes out of habit and because they sound nicer (it seems to me)

Played 30 hours! That old feeling http://casinofun.uk/ when you tell yourself to go to sleep and end up playing until the morning! For early access, the game has just a ton of content and zero bugs! Compared to the first part, in my opinion the game is simply polished to a shine!

in the underworld you kill Kronos, they tell you “Melinoye still has a lot to go through… but this is just waiting for her..»
in the upper world only half is done – 2 locations (Biome) and 2 bosses out of 4

T.That is, from a plot point of view, there is no completion

Outlast Trials quietly cries on the sidelines when, at the exit to the RD a year before the release, it was rated in the preview.

So far, the statement of the supergiants regarding the scale of the game is only alarming. The first part, like a roguelike, had perfect pacing. Unless it turns out that in pursuit of scale they will spread out and the game will lose momentum. At one time, because of this, I couldn’t finish the sequel to the amazing Rogue Legacy.

And so. thank you very much for the preview, it was interesting to listen =3

Well, here I don’t know why they and Flynn are doing this. Apparently, the experience of The Forest is taking its toll. “The game is good, but you know how I understood it? She was good in beta all these 4 years,” as Wes said.

Moreover, this same dash, it seems, cannot be improved with gifts (I reached the 3rd region and did not see anything for pumping up the dash)

all the gifts that Zagreus buffed desh, Melinoe buffed run

all pumping within the race comes down to charged attacks and managing the mana that these attacks consume.

Well, I don’t agree here. a bunch of times I built builds around simple attacks, not omega. especially with knives. but you can also play from mana with omega attacks, of course. and even from the sigil! I killed Kronos for the first time by building a build around a damaging Sigil. I could deal it with an ax, of course, but most of the damage was from Sigil, who struck with lightning like a creature simply

I was also very disappointed with the first part. The game itself is beautiful, but the gameplay just doesn’t appeal, and the roguelike format only spoils it. Lots of grinding, boring progression, almost no depth, and the bonuses found in the race are similar to each other. By the end of the game, each run turns into a stack of all bonuses for one attack, and this is followed by 40 minutes of monotonous hammering of this attack. And the game has some pretty interesting combat! But what’s the point of using an attack if it simply does less damage??

In general, it’s better to clarify exactly what errors you mean. However, I would say that they all remained and were all multiplied.

The darkest suffocating metagression is even darker and more sultry here.

The combat is boring and comes down to clicking on a square with almost any weapon you use, and all these special attacks, sigils and other supposed variety are fiction. Just because everything is balanced like shit, at least for now. For example, a special strike from daggers causes a negligible amount of damage, even in a situation where the hammer of Daedalus and a couple of gifts of the gods are taken on it and nothing is taken for a regular attack, a regular attack will dissolve the crowd faster than an attempt to use a special because it stupidly does not damage, I checked. And so with almost every weapon except the axe, there is simply no need to use the entire set of attacks, it’s enough to spam a regular attack. The exception is the axe, everything is useful there, good attacks and decent damage.

But let’s say it’s not scary, because in theory such things are recorded by damage numbers and they may even be corrected, early access, that’s all (I doubt it, but let’s say). Even if you make it so that you can swing into square attacks or triangle attacks (or whatever buttons are on your gamepad or keyboard), this will not change the fact that the combat itself comes down to running around the arena to avoid aoes and projectiles and calling enemies with the button on which the gift fell right now. Because of this, it makes no difference what kind of gun you use, your actions are always approximately the same. Well, that is, if you have daggers, then you run up close and spam the attack, if you have an axe, then you run up close and spam the attack, but slower, if you have a staff, you stand away and spam holding the square if you have mana (and at the beginning of the game you haven’t unlocked the required tarot yet, it ends after a couple of hits), and if not, then you also come close and spam the square. Torches are essentially like staffs, but they do no damage at all. I haven’t opened the skull, so I don’t know, but I suspect that it won’t play much differently either. It was so in the last part, and it remains so here. Because of this, I played the game for about twenty hours, killed the boss from above, reached the boss from below a couple of times, and I don’t see the point in playing further right now, since the gameplay has already gotten to the end of me with monotony (in just twenty hours, despite the fact that the content here is already twice as big as in the first part), and I still won’t be able to watch the plot since it’s not finished.

So this is a review or preview?

Early access, resource extraction… games don’t come out without it?

So any attack gift buffs both simple attacks and omega attacks. It’s just that for some guns there is no point in taking separate gifts. and others are better off hitting with regular attacks

for example, the gift of Aphrodite, which increases ron NEAR… t.There is no point in taking it on a staff, torches or a skull, because these weapons hit at a distance (it makes sense for a skull with an aspect that explodes point-blank towards Mel, rather than being thrown, but I don’t see the point in this aspect itself). You, of course, can throw a skull or sparks at point-blank range, and fight close up with a staff, but why?? but on an Ax or Knives – it goes well.
Hestia’s gift, which makes attacks fiery – it is better to hit them quickly so that the fire accumulates as much as possible
the gift of Zeus, which makes electric attacks – the same as Hestia, it is better to quickly stack electricity

Now the game, by the way, is played without weapons at all. Download Hephaestus’ sprint before the developers nerf it

Daggers with the aspect of Pan are also a know-brainer

And by the way, Kronos cannot be slowed down in any way, the first arcana does not work on him

But what about the fact that cards have their own combos and some simply cannot be taken without fulfilling certain conditions?? Well, after 50 runs I understand this, but it would be better to explain to someone who hasn’t played. This is not said as a reproach to the author, I just liked the feature and spent a long time trying to figure out what these 0 new cards wanted from me
